Alzheimer’s Disease is the most common cause of dementia with devastating consequences for patients as well as their families and caregivers. The brain is the most lipid-diverse organ in the body and depends on tight regulation of lipid metabolism and transport to maintain proper neural signaling and cognitive function. We are interested in identifying genes that contribute to dysregulated lipid metabolism that may also affect Alzheimer’s Disease risk and etiology.
